Published pricing — no “call for a quote”
Standard Installation from $495 — Exactly What's Covered, in Writing
Your charger mounted within a 10-foot run of your panel, with standard hardware, for a published starting price of $495. Materials are itemised on your quote, the charger itself is separate, and anything beyond the standard setup is charged as the difference — priced before we start, never after.

What's included in the standard installation
- Panel check and load calculation first — free, before we quote anything
- Charger mounted and wired on its own dedicated circuit, within a 10-foot run of the panel
- Standard hardware: breaker sized to your charger, mounts, and fittings
- Charger set up and tested with your car; Wi-Fi/app pairing and off-peak schedule configured
- Permit and inspection handled by us, start to finish
- 1-year workmanship warranty on the installation — plus your charger's manufacturer warranty (3–4 years)
The one thing not inside the $495: the permit fee itself — billed at cost, typically $100–$300
The permit work is ours; the city's fee is passed through at cost and shown as its own line on your upfront quote (most cities in our service area land between $100 and $300 for this work). The number you approve is the number you pay.
What the 1-year workmanship warranty covers — and what it doesn't
Our workmanship warranty covers defects in our installation work — wiring, mounting, connections, and breaker work — for 12 months from the day of installation. If something we installed fails because of how it was installed, we come back and make it right. The charger itself is covered separately by its manufacturer's warranty (typically 3 years; 4 years on Tesla Wall Connectors). The workmanship warranty doesn't cover misuse, unrelated electrical faults in your home, or problems with third-party equipment we didn't install.
How the price works — the short version, then the details
Beyond the standard setup, you pay only the difference — and the updated price is yours to approve before any extra work is done.
Read the full wording — how estimates, materials, and changes work
Materials are billed separately, and the charger itself is not included — you can supply your own or buy one through us. If your job goes beyond the standard setup — a longer wiring run (for example 30 feet instead of 10), a panel upgrade, or anything we find on site — you pay only the difference, and we give you the updated price for that difference before any extra work is done. This is an estimate only: your final price is confirmed after the on-site assessment and can change based on what we find — panel condition, run length, permits, and similar factors.
Your appointment is free — if you decide not to go ahead after we confirm your price on site, you owe nothing
We check your panel and the charger location, then confirm your final price before any work starts. If the price isn’t right for you, just say no — there’s no visit fee and no obligation. If you say yes, we can usually complete the installation on the same visit.

Extra wiring beyond 10 feet — $10–$25 per additional foot
The run is measured on site and priced per foot before work starts; the rate lands in that range depending on the route (open garage wall vs. attic or conduit) and materials. A 30-foot run, for example, adds 20 feet beyond the standard 10 — the difference is a line on your quote, not a surprise at the door.
Panel upgrade, only if the load calculation requires it — +$1,500–$4,000
A 100-amp panel that can't safely carry a charger circuit gets upgraded to 200 amps. Combined charger + panel projects most often land between $2,700 and $6,000+ all-in. If your household income qualifies, PG&E's Rebate Plus covers up to $5,000 of a job that includes a panel upgrade. We run the load calculation free before quoting — if you don't need the upgrade, we won't sell it. Details: Do I need a panel upgrade?
Load management instead of an upgrade — $500–$1,000
A load-management device watches your panel and throttles the charger when the house is busy, so a full or 100-amp panel can often charge an EV safely without a $1,500–$4,000 upgrade. It's the right answer for many homes; the load calculation tells us — and you — whether it's right for yours.
Subpanel — $500–$1,500
When the main panel has capacity but no free breaker space — or the charger is far from the main panel — a subpanel is the clean fix. Priced into the quote after the assessment measures your layout.
Permit — billed at cost, typically $100–$300
We pull the permit, handle the paperwork, and schedule the inspection. The fee itself is the city's; it appears as its own line on your upfront quote. No separate 'permit fee' surprise later.
Detached garage or trenching — quoted exactly after measurement
Chargers in detached garages and shops are routine work for us; the price depends on distance and whether the run goes overhead, through conduit, or trenched. The assessment measures it and the quote covers the complete job before we start.
The charger itself — bring yours, or buy one through us
Installation is priced separately from the unit everywhere in this industry — so the charger stays your choice. We install customer-supplied chargers every week. Buying through us, the units we fit most:
Tesla Wall Connector
Up to 48 amps, the fastest home charging a Tesla takes. The unit runs about $585 (Universal model $660).
ChargePoint Home Flex
Adjustable up to 50 amps, hardwired or plug-in — the flexible pick for mixed-brand households.
Emporia EV Charger
48-amp charging with energy monitoring, and the value pick of the three — the unit runs about $449.

Standard installation questions
What exactly does the $495 standard installation include?
Your charger mounted and wired on a dedicated circuit within a 10-foot run of your electrical panel, with standard hardware — breaker, mounts, and fittings. We test the finished install with your car and set up off-peak charging before we leave. Materials are itemised separately on your quote, and the charger itself is not included in the $495.
What counts as "beyond standard"?
Anything outside that 10-foot, standard-hardware scope: a longer wiring run (30 feet instead of 10 is the classic case), a panel upgrade or subpanel, a load-management device, trenching to a detached garage, or difficult access through finished walls or attic space. Each one is priced as the difference and written into your updated quote before any extra work is done — you approve it or we don't do it.
Is the charger itself really not included?
Correct — and that's the industry norm: Qmerit, Tesla's installer program, and most independents price installation separately from the unit. Quality Level 2 chargers run $450–$660 from the major brands. Bring your own and we install it, or buy one through us at the same prices — see the Tesla, ChargePoint, and Emporia pages for what we recommend.
How much is the permit?
We pull the permit and schedule the inspection for you. The city's fee is billed at cost — most permits for this work land between $100 and $300 depending on the city — and it appears as its own line on your quote, so the number you approve is the number you pay.
How do I book, and what if I need to move the appointment?
Start with the two-minute quote form; you'll see your estimated price, then pick a day and time window — appointments open from 2 to 7 days out. Your confirmation carries a manage link: reschedule or cancel from it any time, no phone tag required.
Is the on-site visit free?
Yes — your appointment is free, and there's no obligation. We check your panel and the charger location and confirm your final price before any work starts. If you decide not to go ahead after the on-site price, you owe nothing. And if you say yes, we can usually complete the installation on the same visit.
What if my panel can't handle a charger?
Then we tell you before quoting, with the load-calculation numbers in front of you. Your options are a panel upgrade ($1,500–$4,000), a load-management device ($500–$1,000) that usually avoids the upgrade, or a smaller circuit setting. Our guide to panel upgrades walks through how the decision actually gets made.
